Hastings is a beautiful seaside town on the South coast of England, in East Sussex. Perhaps its most obvious claim to fame is the Norma Conquest and particularly the Battle of Hastings in 1066.  However, it is also one of the Medieval Cinque Ports and, although much reduced, it still has the largest fishing fleet in Europe.

Hastings is sometimes referred to as "the birthplace of television" since the pioneer of television, John Logie Baird lived here for a few years until 1924.

If this gives you a flavour of the town of Hastings there is so much more to find out, and whether you are a visitor or local Hastings Pages will give you all the information you need to get the best out of the town.
